The Commerce Public Library offers a variety of regularly scheduled children’s programs, including Baby & Me, Kidsersize, First Tuesday Story Time, Crafty Reader, Lego Club, Game On! and Reading with Nanuk. We also host special events such as American Girl Parties, Puppet Shows, Storytellers and Magicians. Please check our calendar, Facebook page and posts for more information.
Our Children’s Collection offers something for every child, from babies to reluctant readers:
  • Board books, toys, music and nursery rhymes for babies and toddlers
  • Beginning readers
  • Nonfiction materials for homework and pleasure
  • Classic literature to contemporary chapter books
  • Parent and teacher resources
  • Audiobooks, music, storytelling, documentaries and children’s movies
  • Graphic novels, comic books and magazines
  • Games and puzzles
  • Children’s computers
As a member library of the Piedmont Regional and Georgia PINES systems, we have access to materials throughout the state. Please let us know if you can’t find something, chances are we can have it sent from another library.
The Commerce Library offers valuable online resources through our website, including free access to GALILEO databases, Learning Express and eBooks. And please try out our de.licio.us site, with links for safe educational websites for children and great resources for parents and educators.
We are passionate about encouraging your child to read and learn. We are happy to provide suggestions for reluctant readers and information about Accelerated Reader and Lexile levels. And we are familiar with Georgia Performance Standards and Common Core. We will be developing a homework mentoring program with teen volunteers.
